Additional information
Since the fabric will shrink when washing it is a good idea to wash the curtains prior to cutting/hemming.
For full window coverage: multiply the rod/track width by 1.5 for a full look, or 2 for an extra full look. Then divide by the width of 1 curtain and round up.
You can use SY iron-on hemming strip to shorten the curtains without sewing.
Combine and complete
For a 290 cm curtain pair, use: 36 VIDGA gliders and hooks; 20 RIKTIG curtain hooks for pleating with VIDGA gliders and hooks; or 36 SYRLIG curtain rings with clips and hooks. Add more for fuller folds.
Combine and complete
May be combined with room darkening or block-out curtains or blinds to limit or block out light from outside.
The 300 cm length allows you to hang the curtain at ceiling height to create a sophisticated, high-ceiling look; or you can hang the curtain above the window and let it puddle on the floor.
The cotton/ramie blend creates a distinct character and texture. The fabric is durable, keeps its shape and is wrinkle-resistant.
Curtains with heading tape allow you to hang the curtain directly on the curtain rod using the rod pocket or tabs. You can also hinge the curtain onto a track rail using gliders and hooks.
The VIDGA track rail system holds curtains with heading tape using gliders and hooks. By combining it with RIKTIG hooks, you can create an elegant curtain display. Thanks to its versatility, VIDGA can be mounted on either the wall or ceiling.
Using gliders and hooks usually creates a more formal and dressed-up feel, where hardware is not visible.
The heading tape makes it easy for you to create pleats using RIKTIG curtain hooks.
Designer thoughts
Designer Emma Prowse
“The pattern for VILDPERSILJA curtain and cushion cover is one that had been simmering in my mind for a while. It’s inspired by the old houses that line the streets of Visby, Gotland where I live, with charming walled gardens full of roses, fruit trees, hollyhocks, ivy, daisies, marigolds, figs and walnut trees. Whether you are looking to add life and a splash of colour to a neutral-toned space or to make your urban flat cosier – this versatile pattern connects you to nature.”
Material
Ramie and cotton
Ramie is one of the oldest crops used for fabric production, having been used by ancient civilizations in Asia and Egypt for thousands of years. It is known for its great ability to hold its shape. Ramie looks like linen and has a silky sheen. Blended with cotton, you get vivid colours and a greater lustre.
Function/solution
Light filtering fabric
The fabric dims the daylight entering the room when it is brighter outside, and reduces glare. It gives you a comfortable sense of privacy because people cannot see in during the daytime. At night, when the room is lit, it is possible to perceive shapes and silhouettes from outside.
