Additional information
Unsure how many curtains you need? Multiply the rod/track width by 1.5 for a full look, or 2 for an extra full look. Then divide by the width of a single curtain and round up.
Since the fabric will shrink when washing it is a good idea to wash the curtains prior to cutting/hemming.
You can use SY iron-on hemming strip to shorten the curtains without sewing.
Velvet can be prone to marks/creases. To remove them, iron the fabric with steam on the reverse side, then gently brush the pile where the mark/crease is to lift it.
Combine and complete
For a 280 cm curtain pair, use: 36 VIDGA gliders and hooks; 18 RIKTIG curtain hooks for pleating with VIDGA gliders and hooks; or 36 SYRLIG curtain rings with clips and hooks. Add more for fuller folds.
Curtains reduce heat from the sun as well as heat loss from draughty windows. For best effect, mount from ceiling to floor with the curtains overlapping the window, as close as possible, to prevent gaps.
Velvet has a luxurious character and can help glam up the look and style of a room but the soft material can also be used to create a cosy and relaxed space with a warm, comforting feel.
Effective at keeping out both draughts in the winter and heat in the summer.
Curtains with heading tape allow you to hang the curtain directly on the curtain rod using the rod pocket or tabs. You can also hinge the curtain onto a track rail using gliders and hooks.
Using gliders and hooks usually creates a more formal and dressed-up feel, where hardware is not visible.
Choose from different lengths and colours to adapt to different window sizes and to create a coordinated look throughout your home.
Function/solution
Room darkening fabric
The room darkening fabric lets in a small amount of daylight, when it is brighter outside and darkens the room. It prevents glare on TV’s and digital screens. It gives you a strong sense of privacy as people cannot see in day or night. Silhouettes and light indoors are barely perceived.
Material
Cotton velvet like no other
The unmatched softness and opulent feel of velvet, made from 100% cotton, bring a touch of elegance to any space. Its thick pile captures the light, revealing a rich depth of colour that enhances the room. Made with resilient cotton fibres and a tight weave, this velvet is both durable and resistant to pilling, ensuring it remains fresh and beautiful for years to come. A perfect blend of style and enduring quality, crafted to stand the test of time.
Function/solution
The fabric dims the daylight
The fabric dims the daylight entering the room when it is brighter outside, and reduces glare. It gives you a comfortable sense of privacy because people cannot see in during the daytime. At night, when the room is lit, it is possible to perceive shapes and silhouettes from outside.
