“For SMÅSKRAKE, we were inspired by iconic children’s furniture that have been in the IKEA range over the years. But we wanted to make it even more multifunctional. By twisting and turning the prototype, just like children do with things, we found a solution where the same piece of furniture can function both as a table and as a chair. When you combine several of them, there are lots of opportunities. We like the idea that there’s no right or wrong in how children use it.”

SMÅSKRAKE is both a chair and a table in one piece of furniture. The inspiration came from other children's furniture we've made over the years, but this one has been developed even more on the children's terms. Because when they get to decide, a chair and a table can be almost anything. Perhaps a school desk, a shop or a shuttle heading off into space. Regardless of what the imagination transforms it to, it’s safe and stable, and made for many years of play.
