Feel like surfing? This handplane and your own body are all you need. So easy that everyone can glide on the waves – without carrying expensive and heavy equipment to the beach.
Designer thoughts
Designers Mikael Axelsson and Rob Machado
“The whole idea with KÅSEBERGA handplane was to make surfing so easy that everyone can throw themselves over waves and have fun. The simple yet effective shape makes it possible to glide on the water with just your body. And if you live far from the ocean, we still hope that the board finds a place in your home with its soft and decorative shapes – and awaken a dream of one day experiencing the magical feeling of gliding weightlessly over the water.”
Material
What is layer-glued wood?
With layer-glued wood it’s possible to create flexible and extra strong constructions with curved shapes, like frames for armchairs. The secret is a technique where many layers of thin wood veneer are glued together and then pressed into the desired shape. We often use wood like birch, beech, ash and even bamboo – and strive to use the raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste. Just like solid wood, it has natural variations in structure and colour.
Summary
High vibe, low impact
Inspired by the active, healthy and conscious lifestyle of surfers, we want to attract more people to live the same way. That’s why we collaborated with World Surf League (WSL) in developing the KÅSEBERGA collection with practical products that you can use indoors or outdoors. There are solutions to help you organise things, simple exercise tools as well as furnishings and decorative items that make you long for the sea. And everything made with respect for our nature.
